The new wave of cash back sites on the internet are similar in that we receive a percentage of the purchase back, the main difference being that that sites also make a profit on the transactions.

So how does it work? It is extremely easy to use. There are tens of cash back sites on the internet. Check them out to see which offer the best deal on your preferred retailers. The main criteria are the percentage earned on the sites you use most, which retailers are covered, and how easy it is to withdraw your cashback.

Once you have decided, just sign up and enter your details and you can then begin shopping. Make sure that you enter the retailer's site via the cash back site or you will not be eligible.

Shop as normal and hey presto, the cash back will be credited to your account with a certain time frame. The beauty is that you are getting a discount, albeit a small one, on purchases that you would have made anyway. Another variation on the cash back site are the air miles sites. Many of the frequent flyer clubs now have a similar scheme whereby you earn air miles on your purchases.
